The steam boiler and chimney from the Koneharju gas turbine plant in Lahti were dismantled and relocated to the steam plant serving Fazer’s bakery in Lahti.

A new 5 m³ feedwater tank and thermal deaerator, manufactured and installed by Viitos-Metalli at its Heinola facility, were delivered as part of the project. The steam plant was also upgraded with a new water softener and a steam header complete with accessories.

The delivery further included steam, feedwater and blowdown piping systems, complete with equipment and thermal insulation.

In addition to the above delivery, Viitos-Metalli constructed new steam and condensate transfer pipelines between the facilities. The contract included pressure-reducing and desuperheating stations with actuators, pipe supports and structural installations, and thermal insulation works.

Both pipeline routes were approximately 600 metres in length. The installation work was particularly demanding, as part of the piping was installed outdoors at a height of approximately 10 metres, while other sections were located indoors below floor level.

Along with the equipment and piping installations, both deliveries included complete layout engineering, commissioning inspections, and turnkey project execution.
