At Viitos-Metalli, we have once again taken a step towards more energy-efficient and sustainable production by building our own electric boiler plant at our factory in Heinola.

The project was an excellent example of Finnish industrial cooperation:

• Viitos-Metalli was responsible for the mechanical implementation of the plant, including piping, pressure equipment, and installation work.
• Esys Oy delivered the electrical and automation systems.
•Intergrid is responsible for optimizing participation in Fingrid’s reserve markets, enabling the system to support electricity grid balancing.

This solution provides:

• Emission-free and flexible heat production for manufacturing and testing purposes
• Improved energy and cost efficiency
• New business opportunities through participation in electricity reserve markets

We are proud that the project was completed primarily through our own expertise and with Finnish partners, from engineering and manufacturing to commissioning.

This is another step towards a smarter, lower-emission, and more energy-independent industry.
